There are a couple of changes:
R day will be "Ready to be part of the audience for a respect assembly" and the variety show will be for our class only, not the big show as in the past. More information will come home shortly.
Last week we:
- continued social studies Unit 9 How Do Communities Change?
- read a story called Cool Ali and made chalk drawings with our reading buddies.
- continued Topic 11: Multiplication and Division Concepts.
- practiced being social detectives.
- did more work with Superflex (super hero who represents flexible thinking) and Rock Brain.
- observed our caterpillars as they began laying eggs
- made and filled kindness bags - I hope your child shared all the kind words they received.
- heard some very funny jokes
- tested our reading level, fluency, and accuracy with the DRA 2
- tested our reading fluency and accuracy with DIBELS
This week we'll:
- read The Emperor's Egg - We'll also watch March of the Penguins
- continue to be social detectives
- learn more about Superflex and the Team of Unthinkables
- continue social studies Unit 9 How Do Communities Change?
- practice subtraction math facts
- finish Topic 11: Multiplication and Division Concepts and take the assessment
- observe and release our butterflies
- eat pizza together on Friday - please remember to send a drink and/or a lunch for your child
