Week of December 13, 2010

Hi all,

Last week we read Mr. Putter and Tabby Fly the Plane, Part 1. 

This week we will read Mr. Putter and Tabby Fly the Plane, Part 2 and take the comprehension assessment over the whole story.

Last week in math, the kids worked using the traditional algorithms for addition and subtraction.

This week in math, we'll finish Topic 5: Adding and Subtracting Two-Digit Numbers and take the assessment.

Last week in writing we wrote our own repeating stories patterned after The Enormous Turnip.

This week, we will finish our final copies, along with their illustrations, and make covers for our books.

In social studies we'll finish  Ch 6: How are goods made and brought to us? and take the assessment.

We'll also do more holiday art.

On Friday, Dec. 17 we'll have our Polar Express party. Your child is invited to wear pajamas for the day. Also, your child should bring a coffee cup and spoon in a Ziploc bag. If your child doesn't drink hot chocolate, please send a drink for him/her to enjoy in our classroom.
