Thank you to Mrs. Clinton, Mrs. Millen, Mrs. Toney, and Mrs. Tree for helping with our Valentine's Day party. Special thanks to Mrs. Brady for all of her hard work in organizing and running the party, as well as to all of you who sent in supplies.The party was a hit! Thanks also for the sweet valentines and gifts. I certainly felt the love!
During our last week at school:
- We read Mummies in the Morning and wrote about our favorite part. I hope your student shared some fascinating facts about Egypt and pyramids.
- The class wrote Star of the Week letters and worked on drafts for their hippo reports.
- We worked on Topic 8: Place Value: Numbers to 1,000. We learned how to represent 3-digit numbers in different ways.
- We began made 2-D animals for the background of our frieze (mural) of the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. We also had an in-house field trip about how animals adapt to their environments, provided by Nature Vision.
This week we'll:
- Read another novel set in Africa, Flat Stanley's Worldwide Adventures 2: The Great Egyptian Grave Robbery.
- Revise, edit, and do final copies of our hippo reports.
- "Photograph" the Maasai Mara Game Reserve
- Celebrate Dr. Seuss' birthday with Wacky Wednesday on Wednesday, March 2. The kids are invited to dress wacky, no hats please...but not to act wacky!
- Enjoy read alouds with Snoqualmie policemen and firefighters
- Attend a Swill Kanim assembly
- Work with Swil Kanim on storytelling and poetry
