During our last week at school we:
- Read Flat Stanley Worldwide Adventures: The African Safari Discovery with Ms Hindman.
- Revised and edited the drafts of their hippo reports. This was the students' first try at peer editing and they worked so well together, you would have thought they were pros!
- Finished Topic 8: Place Value: Numbers to 1,000 and took the assessment.
- Took pictures of plants and animals on the Maasai Mara Game Reserve. He/she also wrote captions for the pictures and wrote about his/her adventures on safari.
- Attended an assembly and a workshop with Swil Kanim. Please ask your student about Swil Kanim's following questions: What? Gut? So what? Now what?
- Enjoyed Wacky Wednesday! We made wacky African animals and dropped everything and read. Officer Julie and Firefighter Dave told us about their jobs and read us stories.
- Began some social skills lessons. Please ask your child about being a social detective, expected and unexpected behaviors, listening with their eyes, and comfortable (happy) or uncomfortable (weird) thoughts we have about other people based on their words or actions.
This week we'll:
- Read we'll finish Flat Stanley Worldwide Adventures: The African Safari Discovery.
- Begin a poetry safari with Ms Hindman
- Create the Maasai village
- Begin math Topic 9: More addition and subtraction of 2-digit numbers
- Begin reading and math assessments for report card purposes.

Enjoy your week!
