If your child hasn't turned in his/her reading/math log for March, please make sure it is turned in tomorrow. Mrs. Head will be drawing for the Kindle soon!
The week of March 28 we:
- had our Africa Celebration.Thank you so much for attending! We appreciate you participating in the earthquake drill too!
- read a story called Watermelon Day and did a fun art project related to the project .
- finished our poetry safari, writing odes.
- finished Topic 9: More addition and subtraction of 2-digit numbers and took the assessment.
- learned how to mix paint to make shades and tints of colors
- practiced being social detectives.
- joined Ms Henley's class for a pajama party and celebrated April Fool's Day.
This week we'll:
- read and take an assessment over a story called The Day Jimmy's Boa Ate the Wash. We'll watch a video to go along with this fun story too.
- learn about nouns with Ms Hindman.
- review what people do in communities and begin Unit 7: Who Provides Services in a Community. If you have a service job in the community that you'd like to come and talk about with the class, please let me know!
- continue practicing math facts with a music cd. and take an addition math facts assessment.
- begin Topic 10: Fractions, Probability, and Time, with a review of one-half and one-fourth.
We will not need "mom" parent volunteers for the week of April 25. "Dad" volunteers will be very welcome though!
